23th June was most awaited day for Matt. It was Teddy's bday that day and 1st one together and more so 1st one together post marriage. So the excitement was obvious in Matt's otherwise ordinary life which was just epitome of love for Teddy. He had just known one thing since he met Teddy : to love her in and out. Teddy bday was going to be that special day when he would stuff Teddy with surprise gifts, sing out a song for her, play it on the guitar and then dance belle with her on the soft music playing down the beach which was just few yards down their isle. Matt used to visit shops with Teddy and observe her minutely and make a note of things which she liked intensely n not so intensely. He was kinda making notes in his mind and then jotting them down in his laptop back home what gifts to buy for Teddy for 6/13. One thing helped Matt to keep his plans secret was that both had their own laptops and unless one of the laptop broke down, the other one wasn't touched by the other. This was the only individual thing Matt and Teddy had. Besides, everything they shared. More so a life full of love eternal and sense of belonging to each other's souls. Whoa, that's the most beautiful asset Matt thought he had.
Matt was kinda struggling with his finances those days. His planning had gotta be meticulate and crisp. After lot of thoughts and revisits on the things to buy and place to host the party for her friends and her cousin who lived nearby. he hated him but didnt mention the same to Teddy for obvious reasons. Matt had decided to make this event a very romantic one and memorable one. Without informing Teddy he went shopping for himself to wear best dress he could manage with his limited budget. He wrote lyrics of the birthday poem he would present to Teddy on the night of her bday and the song was handpicked he would play on guitar on the night and the day after.
There were going to be 6 people in the party on her bday eve. 2 friends and his cousin couple. He cringed to have them. Later he decided to postpone the birthday party to later day and celebrate the evening with his lady love. Dance to the music, make love to her , dressed in white and black, she in yellow skirt which she would obviously chose as it was her favorite and then they would get lost in the serenity of the evening making their bond even deep and strong. They would then share the wine together and sip it slowly to get high and talk sweet nothings, whisper in the ears and then screaming out loud how much they loved each other.
The day before bday arrived. Matt set off a bit early from his office. He had finished off his work for the day. Teddy didn't know that Matt was in the office, so her calls went unanswered. There was a beautiful diamond studded watch he had seen once in nearby Johns mall and wanted to buy it for her. He had saved that money for the same. Today was the day for him to buy that. And he did. Money stood nothing for him when he wanted to buy the gift for her. He imagined how happy would Teddy be when she would receive the gift and in return he would get the kiss, intense one, the one he always craved for and that showed how much Teddy girl loved Matt boy. On way back home he got the cake and the huge card. He wrote the message on the card in addition to what card already had.
It was 1150 in the night. Teddy was home, they had dinner and they slept. Matt pretended and Teddy actually did. Matt got up and reviewed his preparations. He had stuffed the bed with roses, the wall with the messages for her, the hall with the large table with the cake in center and 25 candles around the cake and dim light. His music was programmed to play at 12 AM. His guitar was ready to be played the song he had chose. Matt was ready and so were his plans. The watch was stuffed in pillow below Teddy slept. No no Tedds didnt sleep over it, but a touch away from it. The clock rang 12 and Teddy got a call from somebody on her cell. She picked it up and listened the voice "Happy birthday my lady love". Before she could understand whats happening, she jumped from her bed and had a look at the caller, it was Matt. He was right in front of her. Teddy threw the cell over and just jumped out of her bed to Matt's arms. They both kissed each other and Teddy laughed out loud. Matt whispered "happy birthday Teddy" in her ears. Teddy kissed on Matt's lips to say thanks. That was their way to thank each other :)
Matt carried Teddy to the hall in his arms. But not before Teddy could read those romantic messages. And taking roses in her stride. In the hall Matt played the song for Teddy and when the girl of his life blew candles the rose petals fell all over the lady showering her in Matt's love :) And as they ate cake, Matt gave her the watch he had longed to give ever since he saw it in the mall. Teddy felt that tears were trickling down her cheeks. She was overwhelmed. She had just hugged Matt stronger and time just stopped right there as they both fell over the bed and felt asleep in each other's arms.
