Heighten your blog security guys. The intruders are out in the open and we dont know who are those ruckus mongers.
One of the readers of this blog and an awesome writer lost her blog. I had lost one in the past.
To prevent your blog from this hackers you can do :
1) Complexify your blog password.
2) From dashboard there is an option to you "Export blog". Do it periodically so that when a jerk and a jerk(ess) attack your blog, you have a backup available and you dont get a shock.
3) Have a dummy private blog. Post the exported dummy blog out there. So that when the blog is attacked and removed, you can swithc to the other blog.
4) Switch to wordpress. More secure, more complex and more rich in content.
Track your blog stats. There would be a lot of silent readers who read you with an vicious eye. With a malacious intent. Track their IPs. IP Address. And if those visits are quite regular then log a complaint. Observe a pattern of the geographical areas. If there are visits from :
1) Russia
2) Dubai,
its an alarm sign. Victoria and James are on prowl. Laurent is gone off the bloggersville for a while. Jacob chased it out.
Use sitemeter, gostats and statscounter. Statscounter helps you label an IP address and its subnet. You know the location of your regular readers. Label them, so that you come to know that they visit u regularly. So track a new visit from a new IP address. It could be a new reader or it could be a vampire on the prowl.
You can shut that vampire out of the blog by being alert, safe and practical.
If you feel you are being read silently, then do following :
1) Disable the feed of your blog so that nobody can add you in any blog reader like google reader and forward ur posts to the evil gang. You can share your posts with your closed blog friends.
2) Make your blog private. Shut out the world out of your blog. Track the email ids. You must bek nowing the ids of your regular visitors. Many times people make fake ids similar to the original ones and stalk your blog.
Dont be like India in security of your blog. Dont react but always proact. Be like USA. Make your email id which you use for blogger login very safe and a password difficult for any Dubai or Russia hacker to break through.
We all love our blog and we feel shit n shocked when we lose it to an idiot. I felt the same in Aug 2007 when I lost my blog.......So as u preserve ur valuable belongings, please preserve ur blog too. Its ur life, ur identity, ur existence, its ur persona and moreover its ur style statement.
