Today Delhi High Court ruled out that being gay and homo sexual is not a sin. Well a good decision. Goes long way to make a British Raj rule redundant in 21st ccentury India. The article 377 which now is under increasing pressure to get withdrawn. Fair call.
Sexuality is a bogey in India. Thanks to the so called cultural norms and social stigma. You cannot talk about sex in India in public. Porn cannot be spoken of. Porn becomes Pond in public. That is you cannot say you watch porn regularly. You gotta speak oh yeah I see Pond every day.
The intent shown by government to repeal the law which terms being gay as criminal act has made gays and lesbians very happy. So much so that they came out and celebrated in Delhi, Bangalore, Mumbai and even Chennai by taking out gay parades and marchs. But then this irked the so called religious leadership and out came the fatwas terming same sex is a sin.
I have few points to make here:
1) Why openly talk about being GAY or LESBIAN in public in INDIA ? What difference is it going to make ? Besides few moral policing or few fatwas, there is just no use. Lot of unwanted attention, lot of calls, emails or even abuses. Not to forget ridicules and being target of taunts and abusive comments. If you are gay or if you are lesbian, its alright. Its your choice, its your conscience. Its your life. Why open it in public ? Why show a PDA ? If its being safe showing PDA over your same sex partner, flaunt it. But if its not safe then its plain idiotic to display it in open. Gay parades sound even cheaper. Bhaiya apna choice apne ghar tak rakho. Kyu apna majak bana rahe ho, jab India me sensuality nahi hai aur itni maturity nahi he accept karne ko ki same sex people have same rights to live normal life as the straight people do.
2) Who gives the right to the religious and political leaders to issue fatwas or directives on gay sex or straight sex ? And who has asked Celina Jaitley to be the self proclaimed activist for gay rights ? The state and the religious sects should keep themselves away from the bed room. They should bloody mind their own business. There are many more sensitive issues for them to take care of. So why bother to mess up the already messed up gay sex and wex.

What about my opinion?
Well for me its all about the individual choice.
Doesnt affect me if somebody is gay or lesbo or straight. Its a personal choice and its about a conscious decision that two mature individuals make. Being sensitive about the pressures, the responsibilities and the consequences. If the concerned individuals are in sync that they can carry the relationship forward, then why not and who would bloody care and bother about them ?
In the end every relationship is something which works both ways. Its never a one way driveway. Be it a man- woman or a man-man or woman-woman.
Razmatazz Lounge believes that its upto the individuals to decide if they are ready for a gay or lesbian relationship than any dick headed politician or a religious sect leader. Its all about independence and individuality-- the two Is, I always believe in.

People should be given the right to make their own decisions and if that doesn't affect others... they should be allowed to act on it...

sadly ppl get stuck on petty small unimportant things forget abt the major problems....ironical...hah!
This is a sensitive topic and a taboo in non western countries where there are too many orthodox views flying around and people are very judgemental unlike in western countries where the views are generally more broad minded.
But I agree with you Sam,in East Or west as long as the the two partners are consenting and mature enough to bear the consequences and the challenges this sort of relationships opens them up to its their choice.
Liked your post very much.I have read that gay relationship is a genetic condition and there is hardly anything somebody can do about it.
With time religious bigotism would make way to more sensible and civilized approach just as it has happened on the issues of child marriage,sati pratha, untouchability\our society has been ridden with such social evils and mullahs and pundits have used religion to explain these.

Yeah Angel, thats true. Eastern countries are more conservative than the west. Gay marriage was somehting which is now gaining consent all over.
and its like jab mia mia ya biwi biwi raazi to kya karega kaazi....
