Here is a movie, thats a landmark and a milestone for somebody who has grown up living a movie that came 13 years back. Rab ne bana di jodi touches and works wonders for Sam, cos he relates to the simple joys of Suri and failures of the man who wants to love his wife truely more than GOD.
DDLJ was the movie which transformed the 15 yr old teen on the cusp of the manhood with its magic so much so that it works wonders even today for him. When he is looking for a change in his life, here comes a movie which validates his beliefs which are crooked and cinematic but he feels solitude with them.
Rab ne is about Surinder Sahni who fails to confess his maddening true love for Taani, his wife more so owing to the circumstances than the choice. The turnover he does for winning his wife is more than just a cinematic makeover for the guy who is unable to convey his love for the girl he finds GOD in.
Rab ne works cos you relate to the failures, escastcies, triumphs and inability of Suri to confess his love. Howsoever the plot might seem unreal or a touch dramatic, the representation by the KING is superb and simply the BEST. Its a role only SRK cud have done. And when he is in elements, no Rajni, no Aamir, no Krish or no whosoever stands before him. He blows them all. Like his fear blows off in the climax when Taani finds him as Raaj.
Rab ne works for Sam cos he relates to Suri. He feels he is quite like Suri. Suri is low on confidence, is very ordinary, but unparalleled in loving the girl/woman of his life. Most of this stand true for Sam too and when he finds this in the screen idol he loves most, he gets numb. Entire movie Sam smiled and felt overwhelmed.
SRK s eyes say a big deal and when his eyes speak like in Chak De when he won WC, in kabhi haan kabhi naa when he looses the ring and finds his dream coming true. They are just magical. You sit up and freeze.
I am failing for words. I am not able to express the relation of this movie to me. Since my teens or pre teens when I saw DDLJ in last year of my school life, I have grown up believeing this rubbish stuff. Only one movie affected me and now this is 2nd, perhaps 3rd. KANK too.
Anushka rocks. She is surreal beauty and she expresses herself very well. Dances amazing. Adi Chops is excellent once again and so is Vinay Pathak in his "Macho" stuff(relates to the GUY thingie and the Delhi slang)....
Entire movie is set up in Punjab and I rue not being there in that part of the world. I have always wanted to learn Punjabi....
I loved Taani in the movie. I was so happy that i sang and screamed Rab ne songs in the 16 kms drive back home from Adlabs in Kalyani Nagar...Dont care wot ppl think, but then when u r happy show it off to the world.
People wont find this movie good. They would have their own set of idiotic questions. How can married girl love another man ? Here is a guy who is trying to win his love and is ready to go any means to win her. Not everbody can understand this.
Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi works for Yash Chopra magic. It works for SRK,it relates to my struggles and thats why I love it even more. Rab Ne is not DDLJ. Its different. Its matured. NEeds some though to put it before giving the verdict.
For me it scores 4000%........Go dance pe maro chance, go bask in the glory of the movie and the LOVE which is divine and has a touch of GOD's element in it. Love Suri, for he represents frailities and insecurities of a common man, but in the end wins over his love.
If you watch the movie, do make sure you stay back till the credits role finish off :)
